Teacher Kendall's Music Studio

I've had a lot of questions about the fall schedule. Unfortunately, room scheduling is still very unsure at this point, especially for Tuesdays, but I am including my preliminary schedule at the bottom of this email. There is no guarantee this will be identical to the fall schedule, but it may be a good jumping off point for some of you. Thanks for your patience!

Also, rates for lessons will be going up for fall term. Applications for community music scholarships are due the 15th of August, for those of you who are interested.

Thanks for a great end to Spring term. Practice has improved so much this term - I am looking forward to a productive summer.

Hope everyone had a nice Memorial Day weekend. Today (Tuesday, May 27) and for the following 2 weeks, we will have regularly scheduled group & theory classes in Kilworth chapel. The final concert of the school year is this Saturday, May 31st, at 3:00 p.m. in Schneebeck recital hall. Please leave reception foods in room 106 before the concert. The final parent meeting of the school year is Wednesday, June 4, at 7:00 p.m. at my house in North Tacoma (there are no lessons on June 4).

FYI, the Summer sign-up sheets are on the website as of 5/8/08 (upper right hand corner - PDF file). I'll post changes every week if there are any - you can sign up for summer lessons at your lesson or via email (I'll let you know if the times you request are available).

Hi Everyone,

Dale pointed out to me that I had a different schedule on the studio calendar than the one I mentioned last night. I recently found out that we do have a space for our 4:30 Theory class on May 6 - room 106 in the Music Building, so that class WILL be taking place (and has been added to the calendar). So, to clarify: April 29th is a Play-in in Kilworth with no 4:30 class and May 6 is a Play-in in Schneebeck with a 4:30 class in room 106. Thanks, Dale!

Hope you all had a nice spring break. I wanted to remind everyone that April 22 is our Group Concert at 5 pm in Kilworth. Unlike other concerts, there will not be a reception afterwards, although the building is not used by another group until 7 pm so you can stick around and talk if you'd like.

Hi Suzuki Parents,

Tomorrow (Tuesday, March 25) is our Ensemble Concert in Kilworth Chapel at 5 pm. There are no group classes as a result. Please bring a snack to share (leave in the basement before the recital) - there were no sign up sheets, so please just bring a drink, snack or dessert of your choice.

There are no lessons on Thursday or Friday of next week (March 27 and 28). The whole following week is Spring Break. The Monday and Tuesday following break, there will be only group classes - no private lessons.

Reminder: There is a play-in tomorrow in Kilworth at 5:00. Only the Suzuki group has theory from 4:30 to 5 in the basement. Also remember that there are some changes to the group and theory schedule beginning the following week. I will post the new schedule on the website soon (upper right hand corner).
Finally, I have only about 15 people signed up for the ensemble concert on March 25 (5 pm in Kilworth - instead of group that night). If you've been meaning to sign up, please do so this week. Thanks!

This is just a reminder email to everyone that there are no lessons or group classes this week on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. Thursday and Friday lessons are regularly scheduled.
Also, the sign-up sheet for the March 25th ensemble recital will be available next week. If you haven't thought about it already, talk with your kids/family members about what they'd like to play together this year!
